At Materion Large Area Coatings, we are dedicated to providing our customers with responsive solutions, including thin film application of physical vapor deposition (PVD) materials on polyimide. The polyimide material may be wet or dry film. Wet-based polyimide is ideal for wafer processing and can be delivered on a sacrificial carrier.

ADVANTAGES AND FEATURES OF OUR PVD ON POLYIMIDE THIN FILM APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Interconnect circuits
  • Multilayer capability (via or crossover)
  • Multiple patterning/etch techniques
  • PVD deposited metal stack
  • Sensor

At Materion Large Area Coatings , our process of applying PVD materials on polymide material will meet the needs of your demanding thin film technological needs.

SENSORS AND CIRCUITS

MATERION LARGE AREA COATING PROVIDES VARIOUS MATERIALS USED IN FLEXIBLE CIRCUITS TO AFFECT DIFFERENT COMPONENTS.

Our ability to coat metallic and non-metallic films allows a choice of materials to match the film to the application.  Metal films such as copper, provide an efficient and flexible interconnect between adjacent circuits with low power loss and light weight.  Oxide films can be used to form sensors for measuring a wide range of electrical and other physical properties.  Examples of materials we provide include:

  • Copper films for interconnects and shielding components
  • Oxide films for sensors and electrical elements such as heaters
